The Calendula flower has been known for centuries as a source of medicinal substances, especially for home remedies. This has made the Calendula flower famous.

More recently it was discovered that the SEED of the Calendula plant also contains very valuable oil. This oil is highly reactive owing to its exceptional fatty acid composition. The fatty acid composition of Calendula oil is somewhat comparable to that of wood oil (Tung oil). The manner of production of calendula oil is, however, completely harmless and safe, both for people and the environment.

The traditional renown of Calendula, in combination with the newly discovered unique characteristic of this oil from the seed of the Calendula plant, offers opportunities for the marketing of industrial products which make use of Calendula oil. The use of a specially designed marketing label (see opposite) contributes to the marketing of the new endproducts.
