Wood Preservation

The demand of high quality wood with high durability (resistance against weathering) increases while the production of hard woods that typically fills in this demand becomes increasingly unsustainable. The need for high quality, durable wood would become sustainable more easily when it could be based on European soft wood species.

Research has shown that calendula oil is a valuable ingredient in the preservation of wood and can turn soft wood into a durable, hard wood quality. The raw material for preservation, as well as the processes will be tested in pratice in 2007. The introduction of wood preserved with calendula oil is expected in 2008.
